Going with the Flow!

As a Certified Yoga Instructor (CYA-RYT500) with the Canadian Yoga Alliance Jan will be your guide.  For those NEW to YOGA, it is highly recommended you schedule time for the “Discover Your Uniqueness Workshop” before embarking on your YOGA for beginners journey.   This workshop is designed to help you become more aware of your body and identify natural compression points.  Why?  Several reasons: to identify your own, unique compression points, after all we were all made differently;  to allow you to make realistic goals; to keep you safe!  

Class sizes will be limited to 10.   Wherever classes are held they are guaranteed to be fun, interactive and refreshing!

We will be doing gentle HATHA yoga concentrating on alignment, breath, strength, and uniting our mind, body and spirit.  Aromatherapy is optional as part of our classes and can greatly improve the spiritual, emotional and physical experience of yoga.  Our focus is on helping the equestrian deepen their relationship with their equine buddy. 

Classes are held in 10 sessions blocks, held weekly or twice a week (for a 5 week commitment). Prairie Tree Wellness believes in a ‘student centered approach’. Each session builds upon the last and you will progress each week. Our 10th class in the session is a time of celebration as we give thanks for the ability and mobility we have been given. We congratulate ourselves for devoting the 1 or 2 hour(s) per week, and achieving our physical, mental and spiritual wellness goals.

Yoga for Equestrians: Classes are designed to help you achieve a dynamic and harmonious union with your horse.  We do lots of balance poses to help integrate the body, mind, spirit and horse.   Pony clubs and those who compete are invited to Contact Jan to book classes on-site at your barn.  You will need your own quiet horse and two athletes taking turns as a spotter while the other is in the saddle.  In other words, 2 riders to one horse.  Special rates apply.

REFUND POLICY: Missed classes within a session will not be refunded. If you cancel two weeks prior to the first class, you will receive a refund minus a 10% administration fee.

 Be sure to subscribe to my blog where I will share tips on how to incorporate yoga into your daily life and how you can enhance your journey (or your current yoga profession) with the addition of pure, essential oils.  

Private sessions, available only through booking two weeks prior to the start date, will NOT be publicized to ensure your privacy.


How much do the classes cost?

The 10 session block will cost $170.00 (plus applicable taxes) or $17.00 per class. Some sessions will run weekly for a 10 week commitment and others will run twice a week for a 5 week commitment. Refunds are only available if you cancel 2 weeks before the start date. Even if you miss a few classes you will still be getting great value given the cost of travelling to the nearest studio in the bigger cities. Only you can decide whether to sign up or not. IF there is a cancellation of the class due to inclement weather, a make-up session will be scheduled. Because the classes are progressive, no drop-ins can be accommodated.

Supporting Our Community:

Supporting our local community is important to us.  That’s why we will contribute 10% of the class fees for our block purchases to chosen local charities on a rotational basis.  Check our Facebook Page for our regular community updates!

Where are the classes held?

Classes are held in the privacy of your home, school, pony club barn arena, church group,   cottage.  Gather a group of friends and  schedule classes in the park or on your farm.

As with all exercise programs you should check with your doctor before proceeding.  Once you have been given the clearance to proceed, please be sure to advise your yoga instructor of your area of concern.  This information is held in confidence for the sole purpose of ensuring you proceed safely with your yoga practice.  It is very important you are open to modifications and use props suggested during your healing period to prevent injury and to aid in your healing.  It is always better to start out slowly with any pose.
